The Certified Anti-Corruption Manager (CACM) is the premier anti-corruption management credential that enables decision makers and those charged with governance prevent, deter, and detect fraud and corruption effectively. However, becoming a CACM is the first step to play a visible and significant role in local communities.
Adel Karim, CACM and Ildico Elia, CACM are two Lebanese CACMs who set the example in disseminating the anti-corruption knowledge and education in Lebanon. Mr. Karim discusses the nine principles of fighting corruption that is derived from the CACM curriculum.
Among the principles Mr. Karim and Ms. Elia discussed are:
1- Rule of law,
2- Independence of Judiciary,
3- Internal control,
4- Governance,
5- Political will, and
6- Management and effective decision making.
The interview is in Arabic. It shows that unless there is a national Institutionalization of fighting corruption based on the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary, corruption grows and destroys the national fabric of communities.
