For the first time, The American Anti-Corruption Institute (AACI) challenges the conventional practice of the so-called effective implementation of corporate governance. The AACI raised the par by addressing what it calls “Governance Expectation Gap.” The AACI also is a critic of the widely used input-based corporate governance measures. The AACI believes that when corruption prevails and the rule of law is ineffective, there are significant doubts about the corporate governance effectiveness.
Represented by its Sr. Director Mr. Mike Masoud, The AACI discussed these ideas and concepts at a Seminar held at the Chamber of Commerce, Amma – Jordan on October 3, 2018. Mr. Masoud discussed the concept of “Corporate Governance Expectation Gap.” He also suggested starting to establish a “Jordanian Corporate Governance Effectiveness Index.”
